Monsters University

I was excited out of my mind for this movie at the teaser trailer, then from the first trailer, and I continue being excited during this trailer.  While I do now essentially know the ENTIRE plot, I don’t care, it’s a kids movie, it’s not going to be that hard to figure out anyway.

 

The Philosophers

Despite the fact that this trailer pretty much tells you the whole movie – I don’t care. I want to see it.  I like the psychological mind game type things, and my sister and I always talk about our post-apocalyptic or zombie apocalypse survival plan (basically, she’s screwed), so I will love this movie.  Of course, my sister and I will both be yelling as to who they should/should not take the whole movie, but whatever.

 

Planes

I normally like animated kids movie but have zero desire to see this one.  Looks like Cars (obviously).  Might be good for people with kids that like planes….  but I won’t be seeing it.  It’s Disney trying to make a Pixar movie, without Pixar (ie like Cars 2, which didn’t do so hot).  So, I call skip.  Also, I just noticed who a ton of the voices are…. which should be… interesting…. Val Kilmer, Dane Cook (the main one, actually), Brad Garrett, John Cleese, Gabriel Iglesias, Cedric the Entertainer… very random assortment and I’m not sure I like it…

 

Prisoners

This trailer essentially tells you the whole movie, and looks really good, until about 1 min 50 seconds in.  It does take the completely predictable and been done way too many times turn at that point, but it doesn’t matter, I will still see it.  Paul Dano looks incredible as the creepy kidnapper.  I love the very psychological movies and watch people crack under pressure and how things effect them.  So I would have liked it better if they didn’t take the predictable route (one parent goes rouge and kidnaps the kidnapper)…. but still, I’ll see it because of how amazing the cast looks.

 

We’re The Millers

This looks hysterical, and I normally don’t like funny movies.  I will definitely be seeing this movie.  Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis? Yes.

Pacific Rim

It’s Guillermo del Toro, so it’s going to be great – and it looks great, even though it feels like ‘Cloverfield’ and ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ had sex, and this was the baby.  With a little bit of weird uncle Iron Man thrown in.  But do I care? No.  This still looks like it’s going to be great.  Oh, and Idris Elba is in the movie.  Yes please.

The Lone Ranger

It’s very rare… actually, I don’t think it’s ever happened before…. that my number one problem with the movie is Johny Depp.  Usually I’m all over Johnny Depp.  But in this case, no.  The accent is horrible, the makeup is crappy (we still know it’s Johnny Depp under there), and it just annoys me.  They should have got someone else to be Tanto.  Beyond that, I think the trailer looks pretty good.  However, the Johnny Depp thing is SO annoying – that I probably won’t go see the movie.

After Earth

I love a good post apocalyptic-y type world.  I also love a good sci-fi.  I also love movies with a very small cast.  And I love Will Smith.  I’m sold.  The trailer also looks beautiful.  I’ve watched the trailer about 3 times now, and I still stop to watch it.  I also love the fact that it’s Will Smith and Jaden Smith actually playing father and son.  Great choice.   It just makes it feel so much more authentic that way.

There is one problem with the movie – which the trailer doesn’t mention – It’s M. Night Shyamalan.  His recent stuff has been complete shit (cough the village cough last airbender cough), but this looks like it could be a really good comeback for him.  Lets hope so, because I have high hopes for it.

Oblivion

Meh.  Not excited.  Partly because I feel like I’ve seen the movie from the trailer.  And partly because it’s Tom Cruise.  I just don’t know about it.  I think I might go see it, if I don’t pay for it…. like a rental.  Who knows, it may surprise me, but it just doesn’t catch my interest too much.  Not visually amazing, lots of CGI, story I think I know… meh.  I got most excited in the trailer about the kind of bear trap thing at the end.  So if that’s all that got me excited, not good.

Warm Bodies

On a more amusing note, THIS MOVIE LOOKS AWESOME.  I want to see this so bad.  I love zombie movies – and this looks hilarious.  I also love different takes on zombies, and this looks like it’s a fun newish direction.  So I’ll definitely be seeing this movie.

So, I don’t really think I’d like this movie, plot wise, but the set feature especially makes me want to see the movie just because it looks gorgeous.  I also like listening to the costume one, just because since I’m not a clothes person, it’s really interesting to hear all the thought that goes into them – WAY more than I ever thought.
