No, this movie is not about the meaning of life… BUT IT’S ABOUT JACKIE ROBINSON. I’m sold. It looks good. Great cast. I’ll see it, case closed.
Les Miserables – Official Singing Live Featurette
So, I’m watching this, and THAT IS AWESOME. Anything is better with live singing. Especially when they do a good job, which it appears like they are. A couple of comments bothered me, like the “this has never been done before..” Yes it has, Across the Universe, case in point. But beyond that, holy crap. This does also have live music being fed to the actors, rather than a prerecorded music track – which ok, I’ll give them that that is awesome too. It makes it feel MUCH more like a real musical. And you can tell how passionate and excited all the actors are about it. They’re clearly proud of it which is great. I think it will be awesome.
3, 2, 1, Frankie Go Boom
Ron Perlmen in a dress. Case closed.
Texas Chainsaw 3D
Yeah I’ll see it. Why? I have a problem. It looks like every other one that has been made beyond the first one – stupid, but manages to suck us in. Why the heck not.
Cloud Atlas
So I’m going to post two links. The first one is the first trailer that came out – 5 minutes long. Ridiculous right? NO IT’S NOT. You’ll see why. The second trailer is the shorter one if you want to skip… but I recommend the first one, if not both.
Alright. So. This is made by the people who made the Matrix. You might be thinking WTF?! I thought that first trailer was so amazing that I wanted to read the book. And I’m so glad I did. It is phenomenal. I am SO excited for the movie. Let me explain the basic premise of the book. There are 6 stories. You read the story in the order story 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Each story is a little bit later than time than the last, from a 1800s lawyer on a voyage, to a post-apocalyptic society. Certain characters/souls reappear throughout the book. Although it’s not obvious. One person, for example, changes from a villian, to a vanilla character that dreams of more, to a hero. If you just take it for face value, it’s 6 GREAT stories. Each has a complex writing style that fits perfectly to the current time period. It’s insane. Once you start connecting the stories it reaches a whole new level. Seeing this put into movie format will be great. From the trailer, it doesn’t look like they’ve changed much which is good. I think it’ll be visually stunning and incredible. The soundtrack sounds great, the cast is great, and ahhhh. I’m just so excited. Read the book as well, it’s awesome. Also, here’s a link to the directors commentary just in case you want to watch it to have a bit more back story of what they were thinking.
