Movie Title: The Dark Knight Rises
Today a 13 minute “Dark Knight Rises” featurette was released. And I’ve got to say, after seeing this, I am not only more excited (which I didn’t think was possible), but I’m also feeling a little bit better as Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. I’m still not entirely sure, but I’m feeling a little better about it. Here’s the video. Watch it full screen and be ready to devote the full 13 minutes to it – because you won’t want to stop watching it.
I also wasn’t aware before this featurette that the movie is taking place 8 full years AFTER “The Dark Knight”. I mean, I figured it’d be a decent amount of time after but 8 years is a lot. So I love it.
One thing I love about this featurette is seeing some of the actors speak about their roles, or filming, etc. Tom Hardy is hilarious when he says “the three year old inside of me was like… omg, that’s Batman!” Awesome. I love Tom Hardy. I’ve always loved him, especially after Bronson. I think he is going to be phenomenal as Bane. I also love the fact that Christopher Nolan says he loves the expression that Tom Hardy can show with just his eyes. There’s a scene in Inception where they are in the first layer of the dream, and they are all learning about the sedation. Tom Hardy as Eames says “… and if we die we’ll be lost in limbo until our brains turn to scrambled egg…hmm?” When he does that “hmm” his eye twitches in this fabulous “Omg I hate your guts right now you *#($(#*”. It’s fabulous. So yeah, anyway, I love me some Tom Hardy. A lot.
Anne Hathaway says that she found it important to fit into Christopher Nolans version of Gotham as Catwoman. So hopefully that’s a sign that she’ll be good? Ah, I’m still just unsure! She looks a little better in these scenes, but… It really will be a wait and see.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks awesome as John Blake. He’s amazing in most anything, though.
The other highlight, to me, in this feature was the part where they show them building sets and filming some of the scenes. They say that one thing Christopher Nolan really prides himself on is the fact that in the scenes with huge amounts of people – they’re all real people. No effects to make it look like there are more people than their really area. Fabulous.
So go watch it for yourself and tell me what you think.
