Part 1 – Spoiler Free Quickie Review
I couldn’t watch this movie. I thought it was stupid, not funny, and just ridiculously idiotic. I watched 30 minutes of it and those thirty minutes were torture. I just couldn’t do it. I do like Mel Brooks – I love Robin Hood Men in Tights for example, but this one just wasn’t doing it for me AT ALL. Clearly, if I couldn’t even make it through 30 minutes without whining like a crazy person to everyone who would listen on facebook, it just wasn’t happening.
There are a number of reasons that I didn’t like this movie, and mostly, they are just because it’s not my type of movie.
1. I don’t really like the Western genre – so making fun of it, well, I didn’t really notice.
2. I don’t like slapstick humor. Really at all. Stupid funny just isn’t my thing.
3. I feel like I’m too young (22) to get a number of the jokes – I have a feeling they were funny at the time, but I just don’t get them. I didn’t make it to the farting scene though – I obviously would have gotten that one.
Overall: Not even going to rate it, since it’s not my type of movie so I can’t accurately judge it. I will probably never even attempt to watch the movie again, however, because I just couldn’t get into it at all.
